Production Tutorial Empty Re: Production Tutorial

Production is essential to a developing economy and so Th eXiles has various production groups building everything from ships and vehicles, to guns and items.

Here is a step by step tutorial to production in factories. Production can be confusing at first but once you do it a few times you will have it down.

(Note: Shipyard production is very similar)

    ------------------------------

Before you can actually begin building something (in this case, a ship) you may possibly need to retool a factory for production. You will need to make sure that a production faction leader has assigned a datacard for the item you are trying to produce, to the factory you are trying to produce in.

Here are some requirements before you begin anything in production:

You must be a member of a production faction. Make sure that you are in the right type of production faction. (If you are trying to produce ships be in a ship production faction, to produce guns, you must be in a weapons production faction.)
You must have the proper privilege level in that faction. To produce in a factory you will need "Production 1" or Can Produce in Facilities", "Can Produce in Shipyards".
You must be assigned operator of the factory you are trying to produce in, and your faction must be assigned as manager.

    1. Enter factory.

    2. Go to command room, one room to the right if you entered in the entrance room (not docking your ship).

    3. Under Control on the right, click on Building Management.

After clicking Building Management, you should see a screen that resembles this one:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

    4. Click Produce.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

After you click Produce, here is what you will see:

If you need to retool then click Retool, select the item you want to begin retooling for (in this case, a YT-1300) and click Start Retooling.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

It should take six and a half hours.

    Ship/Vehicle Production

Follow steps 1-4 above and click Add.

Here, you will enter the number of ships you want to produce, the number of worker NPCs to use and the name for the ship. (Vehicle production is done the same way.)

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

    Items/Weapons/Droid Production

Follow steps 1-4 above and click Add.

In item/weapon/droid production the process is a bit different. You will enter in the quantity of batches you want produced (Units per batch are available below as reference), as well as how many individual units to be loaded into each crate. Also, as in ship production, the amount of available NPCs you want to build the items (talk to your leader about the number of NPCs to use to get the best build time), and of course the name for the items.

After you have filled in these fields, click Add to Queue, and you will see the ship/item/weapon/vehicle/droid appear to the right of this screen, from here you can click Start to begin production or Edit to edit the details you entered. You can also delete the item totally from the queue.

You also have to set the amount of items per batch, and amount of batches. Your faction leader will tell you what is best.

Before you can hit start though, you must have the necessary number of worker NPCs, and they must meet certain conditions.

They must be assigned with your faction as manager and you as supervisor.
They cannot be in your party.
They must be in the entrance room of the factory.

Note about NPCs: Your faction leader will tell you how many NPC workers to use for what you are producing. This directly affects the production time. Too many NPCs can slow down production.

After you make sure all of these conditions are met, you can click Start and you will have a brand new ship/item/weapon/vehicle/droid on the way!
